Mr. Jeff Wells, widower of Emma Jane Fulwood Wells and son of the late Walter and Maggie Smith Wells, was born on June 6, 1926 in Lee County, SC. He departed this earthly life on May 2, 2019 at Prisma Health Tuomey Medical Center in Sumter, SC.

Jeff attended the public schools of Sumter County. Being reared in a Christian environment, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and joined Asbury United Methodist Church.

"Bubba," as he was affectionately called by his family and many friends, was so sweet and kind. To know him was to love him. As the Patriarch of the family, he enjoyed time with his family and making others smile. His sense of humor will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his children: six sons: Collam (Deloris) Wells, Jerry L. (Emma) Wells, Clint Wells all of Sumter, South Carolina, Willie (Greta) McCray of Paterson, New Jersey, Wayne (Lila) Wells of Turbeville, South Carolina and Herbert (Trina) McCray of Raleigh, North Carolina; seven daughters: Helen V. Robinson of Fort Washington, Maryland, Shirley Staton of Paterson, New Jersey, Melissa J. Wells of Owings Mills, Maryland, Shelly (David) Cooper, Martha Williams, Barbara A. Wells and Karen E. Wells all of Sumter, South Carolina; one sister, Betty J. Fortune of Bowie, Maryland; fifty-three grandchildren; seventy-six great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Forest Wells; three brothers and five sisters.

Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

M will be placed in the church on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 11am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 12pm on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 South Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Dr. Helen Robinson Officiating, and Apostle Jerry Wells, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in Goodman Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 3550 Britton Brodgon Road Sumter, SC 29153.
