James Pickney Belser was born on November 12, 1932 in Clarendon County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Gus and Luanna Belser. On Thursday, January 26, 2017, James entered eternal rest.

James Belser was educated in the Clarendon County school district. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. James worked over 30 years in construction in Philadelphia, PA. After his retirement he moved to Pinewood, SC.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his sister Ruth Richburg of Pittsburgh, PA; eight daughters: Marilyn (Clarence) Coclough, Brenda Belser both of Columbia, SC, Yvonne (Albert) Jones of Prosperity, SC, Nina Belser, Michelle Belser and Darlene Crawford of Philadelphia, PA, Cynthia Casaudra of California, and Deidra Romeo; four sons: James Belser Jr. of Pinewood, SC, Darryl Belser of Philadelphia, PA, Andrew Belser of Alexandria, VA and Melvin Crawford of Philadelphia, PA; 22 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his two children: Joyce Ellis (Philadelphia, PA) and Kevin Belser (Columbia, SC); three sisters Susan Anderson (Washington D.C.), Gussie Baker and Annie Mae Belser (Philadelphia, PA); two brothers Johnnie Lee Belser (Washington D.C.) and Henry Belser (Philadelphia, PA).

Public Viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 3-6pm

Mr. Belser will be placed in the church on Wednesday at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 1pm at New Hope AME Church 18808 Panola Rd, Pinewood, SC

Interment will follow in New Hope AME Church Cemetery

Family will be receiving friends at 427 Fulton Street, Pinewood, SC
