Obituary

Mother Iris Pack Singleton departed this earthly life on April 3, 2018 in the comfort of her home for her eternal reward, basking in God's Glory.

Mother designed her life through Christ, and exemplified the characteristics of a virtuous woman.  She lived a life of faith and for his glory.  She walked in the ways of the Lord, destined to please Him.  Regardless of the situation she would always say "the Lord will make a way."  Mother was a faithful member of the Enon Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years and served faithfully on the Senior Missionary, the former Senior Choir and the Petal and Pearls Ministry, for many, many years.

Mother loved to sing, and was a part of a quartet group, "The Packs."  Their favorite song was "Walk with me Lord."  Mother enjoyed cooking, gardening and fellowshipping with her family and friends, and was full of wisdom and would tell stories full of rich history and content that could fill a room with laughter for hours.

Mother Iris was married to the late, Lewis Edward Singleton, Jr., for 64 years and to this union, they had 10 children.  Her memories will be cherished and lived on through six daughters: Minnie Ruth Grant, Iris Lee Abrams, Priscilla Annette Lewis, Edna Patricia (Deacon James, Sr.) Shaw, all of Sumter, S.C., Teresa Ann (Charles) Mouzon of Columbia, S.C., and Lacie Ann (Elder Frederick) Pressley, of Sumter, S.C.; two sons, Moses (Dorothy) Singleton of Sumter, S.C. and John Hazel Sr. (Patricia) Singleton of Dalzell, S.C.; forty-three grandchildren, two lovingly reared in the home, Tiffany and Michael Johnson; eighty-nine great-grandchildren, one lovingly reared in the home, Malaya Caldwell, her little Angel; eighty-two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Elouise Scott of Sumter, S.C.; one sister-in-law, Cora Lee Pack; two daughters-in-law, Marie Singleton and Loretta Singleton; adopted children: Deacon Alexander 'Nick' Jenkins, Elder Norvel and Patricia Turner, Vandretiss Gilbert, and Marva Mitchell; two special nieces, Jimmie McMillan, Barbara Goodman, and a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
