Mother Ida Mae Colclough Myers, daughter of the late Charlie and Julia Champion Colclough, was born on February 18, 1922 in Sumter, SC. On Tuesday, August 27, 2019, Mother Myers made a peaceful transition to her eternal home.

Mother Myers attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from St. Michael High School. She extended two years of education at Morris College. Being a lifelong member of St. Paul AME Church (Shaw), she was the Mother of the Church for one year. Mother Myers served faithfully in many capacities.

She was married to the late William "Herbert" Myers, Sr. for 72 years and seven children were born to this union.

Mother Myers leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: her sons: George Myers (Roberta), Larry (Delores) Myers, Charlie (Rebecca) Myers all of Sumter, SC, and William (Louise) Myers, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; daughters: Viola Myers (Sammie Lee), Rosa Myers (Harold) Nixon of Ellenwood, GA, and Gloria M. McClain of Jonesboro, GA; one grandson of the home, SGT Rodrick D. Myers; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph (Betty) Colclough, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Gardenia Colclough; godchildren: Cheryl Colclough Harrison, Tyrone Butler, Michelle Lewis Morris, and Yvonne Pitts Myers; a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, William "Herbert" Myers, Sr.; three brothers; two sisters; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; one daughter-in-law; and two infant great-grandchildren.

Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mother Myers will be placed in the church on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at St. Paul AME Church (Shaw) 1495 North St. Paul Church Road Sumter, SC 29154, with Pastor Eric R. Dent, Eulogist and Pastor Vincent Myers, Presiding.

Interment will follow in St. Paul AME Church Cemetery

Family will receive friends at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Charlie Myers, 4900 John Franklin Road Sumter, SC 29154, from 12-8pm.
