Henry McDermot Pitters

Henry McDermott Pitters, affectionately known as “Zercha,” “My Brother,” and “Speng,” was born on October 26, 1959, in the small parish of Lower River, Jamaica, West Indies. He was a blessing to his parents, Myrie Beckford and Keith Pitters. And was the eldest of five siblings, born to Myrie. Henry attended Lower River Primary School, and in 1977, he moved to the United States to be with his mother and his bonus dad, Granison “PJ” Peterson, whom she married. Through this marriage, Henry gained two bonus brothers and a sister, adding to his family.
