Obituary

Mrs. Hattie Mae Daniels Scott was born Dec. 5, 1942, in Sumter County, to the late Harry and Lillie Mae Daniels.
She was the widow of David Scott Sr.

She departed this life on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

"Hattie" was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was later employed by Sumter School District #17 for more than 30 years where she worked as a cook.
Upon retirement, she enjoyed some of her hobbies which included fishing, cooking and gardening.

She began her Christian journey at Rockhill Baptist Church where she was baptized and later became a member of Westend Community Church.

Hattie was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and sister.
She was a giving and kind person and opened her home as well as her heart to anyone she felt needed it.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories four children, Joann (Mona) Eaglin of Gaston, Barbara (Clifford) Robinson of Santee, David Scott Jr. of Sumter and Frankie Scott of the home; an adopted daughter, JoAnn Rumph of Gaston; one sister, Shirley Jones; two brothers, Harry (Lessie Mae) Daniels Jr. and Edward (Janie) Daniels; sisters-in-law, Plummie Green and Annie Ruth Scott; four grandchildren, Corey Eaglin, Adrian Eaglin, Shanieka Eaglin and Courtney Eaglin; six great-grandchildren, Brianca, Jada, Kemiah, KeAshia, Savion and Trequan; special friend, Henry Wells; a special niece, Patricia Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Daniels and a sister Jeanette Potts.

Public viewing will be held at 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Scott will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Westend Community Church of Christ, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, Pastor Louette Cabbagestalk, officiating.

Interment will follow in Bradford Cemetery.
