Mr. Harry Peterson son of the late Perry Peterson and Annie Mae Wright Peterson, departed this earthly life on July 25, 2017 at Palmetto Tuomey Hospital, Sumter SC.
Harry was, born in Lee County SC on February 8,1952. He attended Dennis High school in Lee county SC. Harry served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on May 25, 1978. He graduated from Sumter Area Technical College with an associated degree in business.
Harry was a devoted employee of AutoZone for 25 plus years and never used a sick day.
Harry had a kind, gentle and loving heart. He was a very loyal and hardworking man and dedicated his life to making sure his wife wanted for nothing. He will be truly missed but his lesson taught and loved shared will continue to manifest in those who had the pleasure to know him.
Harry life changed forever when he met and married his lovely wife Ruby Pinckney Jeannis. Harry and Ruby where devoted and lifelong members of Mt Olive A.M.E Church in Woodrow SC.
Following a brief battle with cancer he was called home to be with the lord.
Together Harry and Ruby reared a handsome son Pharish (Elashia) Jeannis of Covington Ga.. Harry was known as PAPA to his five grandchildren which he leaves to cherish his memory, Pharish I Jeannis Jr.(Sumter Sc), Zipporah R. Jeannis (Sumter Sc), Julian G. Jeannis (Columbia Sc), Journee M. Hall-Cooley (Covington Ga), and Anthony C. Jeannis (Covington, GA). He also leaves behind to mourn his passing; four brothers, Dr. William E. (Ellie) Peterson of Fort Washington, MD, Dallas (Perarline) Peterson of Clinton, MD, James Peterson of Rock Hill, Sc, and Charles Peterson of Suitland MD; one sister Cora Lee Sanders of Florence, SC; a father-in-law Pharish Pinckney of Charleston SC; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and very close friends.
In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by two brothers, Alex and George; and one sister Anniebell.
Public Viewing will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Peterson will be placed in the church at 12noon on Sat. for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Sat. July 29, 2017 at 1pm at Mt. Olive AME Church, 2720 Woodrow Rd., Dalzell, SC 29040 with Pastor Rev. Dr. Friendly Gadson, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens, Woodrow, SC.
Family will be receiving friends at the home 4450 Furman Field Road, Rembert, SC.
