Mr. Harrison Witherspoon, Jr., 64, husband of Regina Staps Witherspoon and son of the late Harrison Witherspoon, Sr., and Vermell Richburg Witherspoon was born on March 19, 1959 in Sumter, SC.  He departed this life on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 in Pforzheim, Germany at his residence.

He attended the public school of Sumter County and graduated from Sumter High School in 1977, after high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served over ten years as a vehicle mechanic.

He was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Silver, SC.

While stationed in Germany in 1985 he married Regina Staps.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: James L. Witherspoon and Rev. Jackie L. Holland; grandparents Ferinand and Camilla Witherspoon, and Cokley and Bertha Richburg.

He is survived by his wife Regina; one daughter, Tatjana Wittenberg of Pforzheim, Germany; one granddaughter Nina Wittenberg and one grandson Maximilian "Max" Wittenberg of Pforzheim, Germany; one sister Bertha Lucas of Sumter, SC; three brothers: Gregory(Genova) Witherspoon of Sumter, SC, Thomas Witherspoon of Sumter, SC and Anthony (Marie) Witherspoon of Sumter, SC; one sister-in-law Janie Holland of Sumter, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
