George E. Washington, Sr., 56, son of the late Douglas and Geneva Washington, was born on August 18, 1961 in Sumter, SC. He entered eternal rest on January 7, 2018 in Wilmar, MN.

He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and attended Sumter High School. Like his father, George drove trucks for many years. George was a happy go lucky person with a fun and loving spirit that always put a smile on everyone's face.

George leaves to cherish his loving memory six sisters: Jeanne Blackwell of Sumter, SC, Linda Washington of Bloomington, MN, Carolyn Washington of Augusta, GA, Theresa Washington of St. Petersburg, FL, Tammy Wiley of Minneapolis, MN, and Melissa Blackwell of Augusta, GA; two brothers, Douglas (Annette) Washington, Jr. of Augusta, GA and Joseph Washington of Charlotte, NC; his children: Xavier Frierson, Antonio Reed, TeKyra Watson, George Washington, Jr., Quinshyra Grayson and Jermaine Washington; a special friend, Connie Holm; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Washington will be placed in the church on Saturday at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11am at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 S. Salem Ave, Sumter, SC.

Interment will follow in Beulah AME Church Cemetery, Sumter, SC.
