Frances Magazine Grant was born on May 1, 1950 in Lee County, SC to the late James and Maggie Magazine. She departed this life suddenly on Monday, October 29, 2018.

Frances was educated in the Bishopville, SC public school system and was a graduate of Dennis High School. She went into the job corps after high school before attending college. Following the job corps, she attended Northeast University, Chamberlay Jr. College, Boston College, Boston University, and Howard Extended University. She had a real love for learning.

Frances worked in many capacities including: radiology technician, medical claims examiner, insurance agent, real estate agent, personnel administration, among others.

She was a woman of patience, kindness and love with radiant and beautiful smile. She was a woman with giving heart that loved to help others. Frances was a strong and resilient woman that fought her hardest until the end. Her love for the Lord was shown by her love of reading and discussing the scripture. She was a member of Berea Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Frances Grant leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter: Collette Erica Scandrett of Washington, D.C.; three sisters: Marie (James) Brisbon, Minnie Frierson, Mary (Frank) Brisbon; seven brothers: James (Pearl) Magazine, Marion Magazine, William (Lillie) Magazine, Lucius (Viola) Magazine, John Magazine, Ernest (Royann) Magazine, Robert (Luelle) Magazine; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss her.

Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Grant will be placed in the church on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Berea Seventh Day Adventist Church 675 S Lafayette Drive Sumter, SC.

Family will receive friends at 143 John Street Sumter, SC.
