Mrs. Floree Evans Grant was born May 3, 1937 in Sumter, SC, the daughter of the late Lucious Evans, Sr. and Sarah Regular Evans. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Bradford Oaks Nursing Home, Clinton, MD. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Louis Grant. She was blessed with two daughters Yvonne Evans Maple of Dalzell, SC and Janice Grant (Joe) Ramseur, Brandywine, MD.
She was educated in the public school of Sumter and graduated in 1955 from Lincoln High School in Sumter, SC. She further her education at Tech (Central Carolina) and received a Secretarial Degree. She was employed by Randolph General Construction Company as the office Secretary, until her health began to decline.
She accepted the Lord as her personal saver and joined St. James United Methodist Church, where she served in many areas of the church: Church Secretary, Church Historian, she sang on the Mass Choir, and other official positions. She loved her church.
Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 3-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Graveside Services will be held at 11am on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Dick's Cemetery in Sumter, SC, with Rev. Cheryl G. Johnson.
In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines the family requests No Visitation at the home
Job's Mortuary, Inc., 312 S. Main Street is in charge of arrangements.
