Obituary

Fannie Lou "Sweet" Davis Ford departed this life on Thursday, March 22, 2018 shortly after 7AM. She was the daughter of the late Martha Davis and Jefferson Webb.  She was born April 11, 1924 in Clarendon County.

Mrs. Ford attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, where she was a member of the Senior Choir, Usher Board, Stewardess Board #2, and the Women's Missionary Society. Mrs. Ford worked at Goodwill School Headstart Program and later at Mayewood High School Cafeteria. After relocating to Norwalk, CT, she worked as a housekeeper for Holiday Inn for several years before retiring. After retirement, she began attending Sumter Senior Services Center where she enjoyed morning devotional services and socializing with her many friends.

Mrs. Fannie Lou Davis Ford was united in holy matrimony to the late Freddie Ford, Sr.  She was a kind and generous lady with a warm and friendly smile and always willing to help others. Her infectious smile was appealing to all that met her and earned her the nickname "Sweet". She will truly be missed.

Loving memories will be cherished by ten children: Lucile Davis, Eugene Ford, Talmadge Ford, Clarence (Carol) Ford, Loretta (Lester, Sr.) Williams, Willie (Sandra) Ford, Martha Ford, Gladys (James Allen) Primus, James (Meochia) Ford, and Brenda Ford; one brother, Clarence Webb, a daughter-in-law, Rosa Ford, twenty-three grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, forty great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie L. Ford and Freddie Ford, Jr., and a brother, George Webb.

Public Viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 1-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Ford will be placed in the church on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 1pm at St. Paul AME Church, 835 Plowden Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29153, with Rev. Sidney Hampton Officiating and Pastor Frederick Graves, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in the St. Paul Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 3755 Reshema Lane, Sumter, SC 29153.
