Evenlyina Pringle Cole, widow of Arthur Cole, Sr., was born to the late Deacon Rule Pringle, Sr. and Deaconess Flossie Anderson Pringle in Mayesville, SC on May 23, 1937. On January 15, 2018, the Lord called her from labor to reward.
Evenlyina, affectionately known as "Annie" attended Spaulding High School, Lamar, SC. Her Christian journey began in her youth at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. In the 1950s, she married the love of her life, Arthur Cole, Sr., a union blessed with one son, the late Arthur Cole, Jr. They were also instrumental in the upbringing of nieces and nephews, Lisa, Tonya, Karen, Sandra, Bernard and Samuel.
After marriage, Evenlyina and Arthur relocated to Brooklyn, NY, and joined First Baptist Full Gospel Church, where she served on the Usher Board and Kitchen Ministry. Evenlyina worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Kings County Hospital, and was Vice President of the family's successful business, AEC Welding Company. Evenlyina enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Welcoming newborn babies into the family was the center of her joy.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her children: Stephanie Howard, Jurucus (Jacenda) Howard and Monroe Howard, Jr; step-daughters, Diana Parker and Virginia Capers; step-sons, Leroy Hudson and Kevin Wooly; one grandson, Kareem (Vanessa) Moore; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, Niya and Kareem, Jr.; her sister, Mrs. Margie P. Thomas of the home, five brothers, Rule Pringle, Jr., of Hartsville, SC; Sam (Mary) Pringle of Richmond, VA; Jacob (Elsie) Pringle, of Mayesville, SC; Abraham (Ann) Pringle of Oakland, CA, and Nathaniel (Cresette) Pringle, of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters-in-law, Ruby Pringle of Bishopville, SC, and Denise Pringle of Lamar, SC; special nephew, Heyward Lesane, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, her church family and friends.
In addition to her parents, husband and son, Evenlyina was preceded in by two sisters, Mabel P. Williams and Janie Lou Pringle, three brothers: Willie Pringle, Henry Pringle, and Joseph Pringle, and a step son, Roosevelt Ellerby.
Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mrs. Cole will be placed in the church on Saturday at 1pm for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2pm at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 126 E Sumter Street, Mayesville, SC 29104, with Rev. Alberta Myers, Officiating, and Pastor Eugene Myers, Jr. Eulogist.
Interment will follow in the Mayesville Community Cemetery.
Family will be receiving friends at 380 Wilson Street, Mayesville, SC.
