Evelyn M. Wright McFadden, 91, widow of the late Otto Wright, Sr. and Clarence McFadden, departed this earthly life on December 20, 2017 at the McLeod Hospice House. Born on November 15, 1926 in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Soloman and Emmaline Carter Moses. She attended the public schools of Lee County.
Mrs. McFadden, affectionately known as "Mrs. Honey", was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was a member of The United Methodist Women and The Stewardess Board. She was a member of the Sons & Daughters of Job Chapter 218 and The National Council of Negro Women.
She was employed by The Lynchburg Elliot Child Development Center where she retired after 25 years of dedicated service.
Mrs. McFadden leaves to cherish her memories, four children, Leola (Nathaniel) Lowery of Lynchburg, SC, Viola (Willie) Cody of Waterloo, IA, Otto (Vanessa) Wright of Smyrna, GA and Walter Lee McFadden of Greenville, SC; one sister, Marian Moses of Bishopville, SC; fourteen grandchildren, a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. McFadden was preceded in death by her son, James Moses, and eight sisters and brothers.
Public Viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mrs. McFadden will be placed in the church on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11 am at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 16 Clarence McFadden Rd., Elliot, SC, Rev. Lee Johnson, Officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Elliot, SC.
Family will be receiving friends at 324 Lowery Lane, Lynchburg, SC 29080.
