Mr. Ernest Wilson Jr., 63, of Mayesville, South Carolina peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 19, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Wilson, affectionately known to many as 'Bear' or 'Sonny' was born on May 5, 1953 in Mayesville, South Carolina to the late Ernest "Big Bubba" & Ruth Elizabeth Wilson. He accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at an early age and affiliated himself as a member of Ebenezer AME church in Mayesville, South Carolina. He attended the public schools of Sumter County.
Mr. Ernest Wilson Jr. was a humble man and a joy to all he encountered. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. Mr. Wilson was employed by Sumter District 2 and retired after 30 years of service.
Mr. Wilson leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Deanna M. Wilson of Providence, Rhode Island; two sisters, Dorothy 'Chris' Kirkland of Sumter, S.C., Margaret Shaw of Columbia, S.C.; three brothers, Robert (Mary) of Sumter, S.C., Cleveland (Freddie) Wilson of Fayetteville, N.C., Bennie Howard of Bronx, N.Y; one aunt, Naomi Brown of Philadelphia; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Ernest Wilson Sr. & Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Wilson; his sister, Ernestine Wilson; his wife, Mrs. Willie Mae Washington Wilson; a special friend, Ms. Clara Lemmon and a special niece, Daufreda Wilson.
Mr. Ernest Wilson Jr. lived a life of compassion and will be greatly missed by many.
Public Viewing will be held on Sunday October 23, 2016 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Wilson will be placed in the church on Monday Oct. 24, 2016 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday Oct.24, 2016 at Ebenezer AME Church, Mayesville, SC with Pastor Phillip Washington, Officiating and Rev. Alvah Lawson, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in Mayesville Community Cemetery, Mayesville, SC
Family will be receiving friends at the home 110 Hoyt Heights, Sumter
