September 22, 1935 – June 9, 2019
Deacon Ernest E. Hull, the son of the late John and Leona Hull, was born on September 22, 1935 in Slab Fork, WV. He departed this life on Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Columbia, S.C.
At an early age, his parents saw that he had a deep source of spiritual growth at United Baptist Church, in United, WV and later at First Baptist Church in Slab Fork, WV. He attended Stratton High School in Beckley, WV, where he participated in all sports activities. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served diligently for twenty years.
Ernest met and married the "love of his life", Clara Jefferson in Baltimore, MD, whom he remain committed to for the past sixty years. In 1972, he was ordained as a deacon at Jones Tabernacle Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Arthur E. Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Clara Jefferson Hull; his daughter, Glenda Hull (Bill) Harris of Baltimore, Maryland; Vincent (Erica) Hull of Columbia, S.C.; three grandchildren: Milahn Hull of Philadelphia, PA, Specialist (E4) Dametres Lopez of Ft. Drum, NY, Daijah Pinnick of Columbia, S.C.; a very special daughter/niece, Bridget M. (Mack) Scott of Columbia, S.C.; eleven sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael; six brothers; and two sisters.
Public Viewing will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2019 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Deacon Hull will be placed in the church on Monday, June 16, 2019 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, June 16, 2019 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church 155 Wall Street Sumter, SC 29150, Pastor Larry C. Weston, Eulogist, and Rev. James Jackson III, Presiding.
Interment will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the home, 2822 September Drive Sumter, SC 29154
Job's Mortuary, Inc., 312 S. Main Street is in charge of arrangements.
