Edith Mae Dukes Edwards was born July 6, 1927 to the late Elder Arthur and Minnie Witherspoon Dukes, Sumter, SC.

On Thursday, September 14, 2017 her earthly life ended at Family Residential Care, Sumter.

She attended Lincoln High School in Sumter, SC.

She lived in the state of New York where she worked until retirement, then moved back to South Carolina.

She leaves to cherish her memories four stepsons; two sisters, Annette Dukes Singletary of Florence, SC, Carolyn Maxine (Harold) Dukes Simmons of Rochester, NY; one brother, Elder Richard E. Dukes of Sumter, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Arthurs Dukes, Jr. and two sisters, Mary Massey and Bettye Cook.

Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Edwards will be placed in the church on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 12:00 Noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Holy House of Prayer, 3655 Highway 15 South, Sumter, SC 29150 with Elder Edmond Johnson, Pastor, Rev. Sylvester Adger, Officiating and Elder Thomas Myers, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in Holy House of Prayer Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 3010 Dwyer Rd., Sumter, SC 29150.

Job's Mortuary, Inc., 312 S. Main Street is in charge of arrangements.
