Ealy Wilson, affectionately called Jap or Bubba, the widower of Mary Ozell Wilson was born to the late Edgar Wilson and Mary Wells Wilson Carter on April 7, 1942 in Mayesville, SC. He departed this life on May 18, 2017.
Mr. Wilson attended the public schools of Lee County. He relocated to Paterson, NJ and upon retirement, returned to Sumter.
Ealy was a friend to everyone he met. His outgoing personality made him a pleasure to be around. He enjoyed dancing and playing checkers. He was a member of the Atlantic Avenue Clubs where he recently won 2nd place in the checkers competition held in North Carolina.
He leaves to cherish his memories a sister, Wilhemenia Dargan; a special aunt, Julia Wells; a special sister-in-law, Ruth Jackson all of Sumter, and host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Carter and grandnephew, Willie Chatman.
Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 2-7pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Wilson will be placed in the church on Thursday at 1pm for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2pm at Salem Chapel and Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150 with Bishop Jeffery Johnson, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Bradford Cemetery.
Family will be receiving friends at the home of his sister, Wilhemenia Dargan, 1218 Devonshire Dr., Sumter, SC 29154.
