Doretha (Shirley) Brown Geddie daughter of the late Joseph Brown, Sr. and the late Mae Bell Wright Brown was born on March 17, 1949 in Sumter, SC. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at McLeod Hospice House, Florence, SC.
Shirley accepted Christ at an early age and attended Bethel AME Church.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Geddie.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; one daughter, Sandy Ann Geddie of the home; three sons; Thomas Geddie and Frankie (Monique) Geddie, Wedgefield, SC, and Teddie Geddie of Summerville, SC; six granchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Allen of Wedgefield, SC; Pauletta Abrams of Killeen, TX; one brother, Eugene (Gladys) Brown of Wedgefield, SC; one sister-in-law, Mary Brown of Sumter, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Green, Louraine Carter, and four brothers, James Brown, Roosevelt Green, Marvin Brown, and Joseph Brown, Jr.
Public Viewing will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 11am at Salem Chapel and Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150.
Interment will follow in Bethel AME Church, 1595 S Kings Hwy, Wedgefield, SC 29168.
Family will receive friends at the home, 6045 Phoenix Court, Wedgefield, SC 29168.
