Obituary

Damontris D. Thames, affectionally known as "DaDa"  was born on July 13, 2009 in Sumter, SC to Candice P. Cocklin and Damon A. Thames.

"DaDa" was a third grader at Millwood Elementary School. He loved playing with his brothers and sister, along with the neighborhood kids.

"DaDa" enjoyed his family and friends and truly was a joy to be around as he embraced people with his outstanding personality.

"DaDa" departed this life on Wednesday, September 11, 2018 at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

"DaDa" leaves to cherish her memory, his mother, Candice P. Cocklin; his father, Damon A. Thames; three brothers: Ja'Shawn Cocklin, Damon Thames, Jr and Ziyon Barris; two sisters, Dammoriana Thames and Nakyia Thames; maternal grandparents, Isaac (Patricia) Cocklin; paternal grandparents, Marie Thames and Mikel (Adell) Anthony; and a host of extended family members and friends who mourn his loss.

He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Patricia Charlotte.

Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Little Master Thames will be placed in the church on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 3pm for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 4pm on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church 850 S. Harvin Street Sumter, SC, with Pastor Marion H. Newton Officiating.

Interment will follow in Bradford Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 114 Henrietta Street Sumter, SC.
