Christopher Jehu Scott, 73, was born on July 22, 1945 in Chicago, IL. He entered eternal rest on June 7, 2019 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, SC. He and his sister, Barbara, grew up under the loving care of their parents, the late Benjamin Franklin and Bessie Joyce Sampson Scott.

He was a graduate of Evanston Township High School. Chris went on to receive a Bachelors in Journalism from Dartmouth College, and an MBA in Accounting from Amos Tuck, also at Dartmouth. Chris also served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Dunoon, Scotland, on a submarine tender in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Chris started his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Price Waterhouse and then moved on to Xerox in Stamford, CT, where he and Sheryl Scott raised their two daughters. Chris later worked at Novartis, based in Parsippany, NJ. He traveled around the country and internationally as an internal auditor, a job he enjoyed because of its similarity to detective work. In New Jersey, he and Brenda Scott enjoyed socializing with Mo and Barbara around the pool.

In 2001, he moved to Sumter, SC, to assist his mother after his father's death.

He is survived by his daughters, Lara Scott of Hamilton, NY and Paige Scott Reed and son-in-law Chris Reed of Brookline, MA; sister, Barbara Burton-Edwards and brother-in-law, Mozette Edwards of Sumter, SC; uncle, Drefus Williams of Sumter, SC; niece, Stacey Horn of Deland, FL, and her husband Kavin; grandchildren: Silas, Jasper, and Etta; two grandnieces, Dasia and Kaia, and numerous beloved cousins.

Memorial Services will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Job's Mortuary, Inc 312 South Main Street Sumter, SC 29150.
