Charles Earl Bennett departed this life on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1964 in Sumter, SC to Mary Alice Williams Wilson and the late Alonzo Wilson.

Charles was a 1982 graduate of Sumter High School and he was employed with the Fort Roofing until his health began to fail.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Mary Alice Williams Wilson; two sons, Charles and Keith James both of Sumter, SC, one daughter, Patrice "Trice" James of Sumter; two whom he helped raised, Kimberly and Roger Lee James; seven grandchildren, Cory, Arielle, Ammonnie, Ra'Nysia, Leroy "Jr", Omni, Anylia James and Mydison McGee whom he raised as his granddaughter; one brother, Lee (Gail) Wilson; a special friend, Eyvette Wright, a special cousin, Calvin Parker; two nieces, Shameka (Christopher) Wills and Sharell (Alquan) Cummings; a host of aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Bennett will be placed in the church on Wed.Dec. 6, 2017 at 1pm until the hour of service.

Funeral Service will be held on Wed.Dec. 6, 2017 at 2pm at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center (Westend Community Church) 101 S. Salem Ave, Sumter, SC 29150 with Rev. Ricky Simmons, Officiating.

Interment will follow in Scarborough Cemetery, Lamar, SC.

Family will be receiving friends at the home 245 Woodlawn Ave, Sumter.
