Carrie Lou Smith Simms, 90, widow of Marion James Simms and daughter of the late Bennie Smith and Mattie Carolina Smith, was born on Jan. 15, 1936, in Sumter County. She departed this life on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter.
Family will be receiving friends at the home of her daughter, 2160 Avenue C, Mayesville, starting Tuesday, May 5, daily from 3 to 7 p.m.
Job’s Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
