Mrs. Carolyn Nedd Commander departed this life and enter into God's Kingdom on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at her residence surrounded by love ones. Mrs. Commander was born on February 10, 1963 in Sumter County. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Nedd and the late James Anderson.
At an early age, Carolyn gave her life over to God, while attending Trinadad Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. She was a 1982 graduate of Spingarn High School in Washington, D.C. In 1986, Carolyn married the late David Commander III, and their union was blessed with four beautiful children. Carolyn was a compassionate and loving family oriented person who loved to bake. She was a small woman with a "big heart" who would give her last to anyone who needed it.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother, Elizabeth Nedd of Mayesville, SC; four children: Shantell and David Commander IV both of the home, Lashawnda (Curtis) Wilson of Sumter, SC, and LaQuesta Sims of Greensboro, NC; three grandchildren: Curtis, Jazmine and Gabrielle Wilson of Sumter, SC; three sisters: Barbanna Anderson, Charlene and April Hudson all of Sumter, SC; a step-father, Eugene (Helen) Nedd of Palm Bay, FL; a best friend, Pamela Weathers of Washington, D.C.; and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Nedd, Jr., her nephew, Antonio Austin; her paternal grandparents, Henry and Mary Anderson; and maternal grandparents, Elijah and Lena Richardson.
Public Viewing will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mrs. Commander will be placed in the church on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1pm for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Trinity Presbyterian Church (USA) 136 S. Main Street Mayesville, SC, with Pastor Othan Franklin Officiating.
Interment will follow in Mayesville Community Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the home, 770 Flamingo Road Sumter, SC.
