Bobby Porter was born February 20, 1955 and took his heavenly flight on November 19, 2017 he was the son of Doretia T. Porter and the late John Porter Sr.
At an early age Bobby joined Mt. Olive AME Church. He graduated from Hillcrest High School Class of 1973.
Bobby employment careers included Advance Auto where he served as a manager, Exide Battery Plant and Construction under the leadership of his deceased father. Upon completing his careers in construction Bobby shared many gifts and talents including becoming a self-employed painter and landscaper. After his retirement in 2015 Bobby enjoyed fishing and spending time his family and friends. The fishing represented his quiet and peaceful nature that he had.
Bobby was formerly married to Johnnie Mae McDaniel to this union two children were born.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his beloved mother, Doretia T. Porter; two daughters, Tonya D. Porter and Barbie S. Porter both of Dalzell, SC; one son, Maurice Porter of Camden, SC; four brothers, John (Mary) Porter, Willie (Keisha) Porter, Donald Porter and Steve (Gwen) Porter; five sisters, Mable Oaks, Dorothy (Moses) Singleton, Helen Woods, Annette Pitts and Nevetta (Tony) McKnight; one foster brother, David Taylor Jr.; one grandson, Qayshawn Blanding of Dalzell, SC; three granddaughters, TywanZuell of Dalzell, SC, Myra and Ashton Porter of Camden, SC; three aunts, Mable (JP) Abrams and Nancy Porter both of Sumter, SC and Fannie Mae (Hall) Mickens of Newark, New Jersey; neighborhood friend, Timothy "Rubin" Brooks; his fishing partner, Mildred Smith; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Porter Sr.; two brothers, Arthur Porter Sr. and Soloman Porter; two brothers-in-law, Calvin Oaks Sr. and Leroy Woods Jr.
Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday.Nov. 22 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.
Mr. Porter will be placed in the church on Friday at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Fri. November24, 2017at11am at Mt. Olive AME Church, Woodrow, SC with Pastor Rev. Dr. Friendly Gadson, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens, Woodrow, SC.
Family will be receiving friends at the home 3381 Ebenezer Road, Dalzell, SC .
