Mr. Benny L. Webb, 63, was born March 23, 1958, in Sumter County to Mr. James and Mrs. Edna Mae Johnson Webb, who preceded him in death. Mr. Webb passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter.

He graduated from Mayewood High School, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Morris College, and earned a Master's in Public Administration from Troy State University. He received certifications from the SC Law Enforcement Academy, the Federal Bureau of Investigation Command School, and the University of Notre Dame.

He worked for the Sumter County Sheriff Department, SC Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, SC Law Enforcement Division, Lancaster Police Department where he served as Chief of Police, and Atlantic Beach Police Department where he served as Director of Public Safety. He was founder and CEO of the Palmetto Center for Law and Justice.

He was married to Dr. Abigail Busby-Webb for 36 years and they have three beautiful daughters: Shaylah Jocelyn of Sumter, SC, Beneshia A'brell of Houston, TX, and Xaviera Jasmine of New Haven, CT.

To continue his legacy, he leaves his loving wife and daughters; four brothers: George Hardy, Turbeville, SC, James (Bernard) Webb and John Lee Webb, Sumter, SC, and Harry (Valerie) Webb, Elliott, SC; five sisters: Fannie Rumph of Mt. Vernon, NY, Shirley Clavon, Barbara Levine, and Carolyn (Willie) Webb-Prince all of Sumter, SC, and Edna (Timothy) Palmore of Aniston, AL; one aunt Elizabeth Myers Johnson of Sumter; one great great niece, Breelyn Noelle of the home; and a host of loving and devoted family and friends.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his sisters Elizabeth Washington and Mary Ann Jones.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Webb will be placed in church on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 12noon for viewing until the hour of service.

Homegoing Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Alice Drive Baptist Church, 1305 Loring Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29150, with Rev. Gary D. Miller Officiating and Pastor Alfreda Johnson, Eulogist. All attendees are requested to wear facial masks.

Interment will follow in St. James Holiness Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 710 Windrow Drive, Sumter, SC 29150, from 3-8pm daily.
