Sister Audrey Evans McCoy was born in Florence, SC on February 12, 1948. She was the eighth of nine children born to the late Mr. Elliott and Mrs. Mary Wells Evans. She departed this life on Friday, April 13, 2018.

Sister Audrey received her religious training at Mt. Sinai AME Church in Lynchburg, SC. After graduating from high school, she worked for a few years and then moved to Bronx, NY, where she furthered her education.

Audrey was married to the late Herbert Nathaniel McCoy and to this union they were blessed with six children. While in New York. Audrey joined Turner Memorial AME Church, where she was a dedicated and faithful member. She served as a Steward, a missionary and member of the Lay Council. Years later, she and her family relocated to Lynchburg, SC, where she rejoined Mt. Sinai AME Church. She continued to work faithfully as a Steward and missionary.

She leaves to cherish her memories: five children: Gerald (New York), Mary, Derrick, Amber (of the home), Darnell (North Carolina); three grandchildren: Najari (New York), Gerald, Jr. (New YorK), and Isaiah (of the home); one great-grandchild, Josiah (New York); one brother, Carrel (Georgie) Evans (South Carolina); two sisters, Tena (Cleveland) Jenkins (New York), Genet (Freddie) Fulwood (Maryland); two sisters-in-law, Gwendonlyn Evans (Virginia) and Anna Lee Mack (South Carolina); and a host of loved nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 1-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. McCoy will be placed in the church on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Mt. Sinai AME Church 4835 Mt. Sinai Church Road Lynchburg, SC 29080, with Rev. Alfred Bradley Officiating.

Interment will follow in Edwards Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 2855 Rush Street Lynchburg, SC 29080 from 12pm-9pm daily.
