Arthur James Pierce, Jr., son of the late Arthur J., Sr. and Charity Ross Pierce was born on November 24, 1941 in Sumter, SC. He entered rest on August 5, 2019 at the Dr. Ronald McNair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Lake City, SC.
Arthur leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 51 years, Edith M. Pierce of the home; a devoted daughter, Doris (Gino) Mouzon of Sumter, SC; grandchildren, Artretta Mouzon and Keaton Mouzon of Sumter, SC; two sisters, Arthuretta (Elder Bennie) P Murphy of Charleston, SC and Carol Loraine (Richard) Martin of Lugoff, SC; a brother, Gordon Craig (Patricia) Pierce of Columbia, SC; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his grandmother Lessie Pierce-Johnson; a sister Carolyn Pierce; and a special cousin Evelyn Pierce-Bowens.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 3-7pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Pierce will be placed in the church on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 2:30pm for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center 101 South Salem Avenue Sumter, SC 29150, with Elder Bennie V. Murphy Officiating.

Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 368 McDuffie Street Sumter, SC 29150.
