Arleen Bonita Cook Butler, wife of retired Morris College professor and Academic Dean Dr. Jacob E. Butler, Jr., passed on the evening of August 6, 2022 at their residence in Sumter, SC after an extended illness. She was 69 years old.

Public viewing will be held on Friday August 12, 2022 from 2p.m. to 6 p.m. at Job's Mortuary Sumter, SC. Family will receive friends at the mortuary on Friday 4 - 6p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 13, 2022 at the Morris Street Baptist Church Charleston, SC at 12 noon.

Interment will be held at a later date at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in North Charleston, SC.

In lieu of flowers, well-wishers are invited to consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in the name of Arleen Butler or a loved one of your choice.

Mrs. Butler will lie in repose at the church at 10am until the hour of service.
