Obituary

Mrs. Annie Mae Goodman-Kennedy, affectionately known as "Manie," was born on February 1, 1931 in Lynchburg, SC to the late Archie Brailey and Ila G. Morant. She departed this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, SC.

Mrs. Kennedy was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She was a life-long awesome Domestic Engineer for her family. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and became a member of The Church of God by Faith and continued in the Faith by accepting the 3 Angels Message and became a member of the former St. Mark Seventh-Day Adventist Church, now Berea Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

On October 4, 1948, Annie Mae was united in Holy Matrimony to James Foster Kennedy, Sr. and they spent 66 happy years together, being blessed with six children. Mrs. Annie Mae's favorite past time was reading the Bible, listening to Gospel music, telling stories, and she adored spending time with her grands and great-grands.

She leaves to cherish precious memories to her four children: Lillie (Walter) Preston, Hattie (James) Jefferson, Lorenza (Nancy) Kennedy all of Sumter, SC and Larry Kennedy, a devoted son of the home, and daughter-in-law, Gail Kennedy of Sumter, SC; one sister, Yvonne Sanders of Columbia, SC; four brothers: Robert and Marshall Morant of Columbia, SC, Earnest (Elizabeth) Brailey, Sr. and Archie (Hattie) Brailey, Jr. of Lynchburg, SC; three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Morant, Barbara Morant both of Columbia, SC, and Mae Kirby of Florida; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Foster Kennedy, Sr.; two sons, Foster Junior Kennedy and Jimmy Kennedy; one sister, Mary Lee Taylor; and two brothers, Jake and Levi Morant.

Public Viewing will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 4-7pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Kennedy will be placed in the church on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 1pm for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Berea Seventh-Day Adventist Church 675 S Lafayette Drive Sumter, SC 29150, with Pastor Michael Miller Officiating.

Interment will follow in Bradford Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at 107 Gulf Avenue Sumter, SC 29150.

Job's Mortuary, Inc., 312 S. Main Street is in charge of arrangements.
