Obituary

Amanda Gamble Ham, daughter of the late Alex Gamble Sr. and Helen Flemming Gamble, was born June 28, 1938. In the New Zion section of Clarendon County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Miller Ham, Daughter, Ella Mae Ham, and two sons, Miller and David Ham, two sisters, Gertrude Cooper and Queen Rose, and three brothers, Alex Gamble Jr., Pinkney Gamble and Roland Burgess.

Dina, as she was affectionately called, attended Friendship Parochial School and Melina Parochial School in Clarendon County. She was a member of Lodabar AME Church.

On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, Amanda answered the call of her Lord and Savior, at McLeod Hospital in Florence South Carolina.

Those who will cherish her memories are: two Children: Mary (Tyrone) McBride and Willie Ham of Sumter, SC.; two Sisters: Nancy Burgess of Orange NJ; and Ida (Hugh) Williams of Newark, NJ. Four Sister-In-Law: Ruth Player and Ida Demery of New Zion, SC, Mary Burgess of Sumter, SC and Edith Burgess of Turbeville, SC. One Aunt: Mae Shaw of Lake City SC; Six Grandchildren: Latasha Ham Singleton and Sharika McBride of Columbia SC, Reco Ham, Larry Ham, Deon Jenkins and Tynetra McBride of Sumter SC, Great Grands: Malasia and Shakira Tips of Columbia SC: Amanda Ham, Dykeria Vaughn, Nevaeh Solomon, and Nysaun Jenkins of Sumter, SC: Three Great Great Grands: Aubrey Springs of Columbia SC, Amayah Tucks and Alahni Ham of Sumter SC.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 1, 2021 from 2-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Graveside Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Lodabar AME Church Cemetery, 10695 Black River Road, New Zion, SC 29111.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, the family will not be receiving friends at the home. The family will be receiving calls at 803-365-3805.

Job's Mortuary, Inc., 312 S. Main Street is in charge of arrangements.
