Obituary

Mr. Alonzo Colclough, son of Lucinda McFadden Colclough and the late Shakespeare Colclough was born in Sumter County on March 21, 1956. He was called to eternal rest on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at his home.

At an early age, he joined the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Junior Usher Board. Alonzo was a very special person, so strong, so kind, so quiet, so humble, and loved his mother. His kind manner and warm smile showed the best side of living.

He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and received his diploma from Sumter High School in 1974. He continued his education at the Sumter Area Technological College with a major in Machinery and Tools (1974-1977), and received certification as a Production Operator from the Industrial Division of South Carolina State Board in 1976.

He worked most of his adult life at Crescent Tools, Campbell Soup, and Southern Roofing in Sumter, SC. His career included machine operator, fork lift driver, and part time maintenance worker.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Lucinda McFadden Colclough of Sumter; one son, Billy Kendall Rose of Sumter; one daughter, Felicia Robinson of Sumter; three sisters, Magdalene C. Numa, Rose M. Colclough, and Alfena Colclough of Sumter; one brother, Ronnie (Regina) Colclough of Sumter; one uncle, Junious Marant Colclough of Newark, New Jersey; three aunts, Minnie Colclough of Piscataway, New Jersey, Elizabeth McFadden, and Lillie B. McFadden of Sumter; four grandchildren, Keyvon Rose, T-Najah Rose Owens, Reginald Jones, and Ja'miyah Sha'laysha Robinson of Sumter; five great grandchildren, four nephews, four grand nephews, two grand nieces, a special former sister-in-law, Laura (Lee Roy) Colclough James, special friend, Vicky Logan, an extended family, Ilie Conyers & Family, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Colclough was preceded in death by his father, Shakespeare Colclough, grandparents, Marant & Lula Burgess Colclough, Felix & Annie Mae Davis McFadden, seven aunts, Eloise Heyward, Hattie McLeod, Edna Dantzler James, Annie Mae Singleton, Juanita McFadden, Lena McFadden, and Alphina C. Bracey, nine uncles, Moses McFadden, Joshua McFadden, Willis McFadden, Henry McLeod, Felix McFadden, Jr., Anthony Singleton, Luther Heyward, Archie Dantzler, and Melvin Bracey.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 1-6pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Colclough will be placed in the church on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10am for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11am at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 3249 Hwy 15 South, Sumter, SC 29150 with Rev. Leroy Blanding, officiating and Pastor Willie A. Wright, eulogist.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
