Obituary

On Monday, August 13, 2018, God and His angels called our beloved father home. He was a loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Alfonso Billie was born in Clarendon County, SC on November 4, 1921. to the Jacob Billie and Alma Holliday Billie, he was one of eleven children. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Carrie Lee Jackson on November 7, 1942; to this union, eleven children were born.

Mr. Billie was brought up and reared in a fine Christian home. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. To know him was to love him. He was a friend to all. He was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant UME Church, where he sung on the Senior and Men's Choir; and served in various capacities of the church. He also served as a Mason.

He leaves to cherish his memory: five daughters: Emma (Edward) Tate of Thomasville, NC, Susie Billie of High Point, NC, Juanita (Bishop Willie) Green, Jr., Mildred Billie both of Sumter, SC, and Ruth Carr of Columbia, SC; four sons: Moses Billie of Greenville, SC, Alfonso (Ruby Mae) Billie, Jr., Henry Lee (Brenda) Billie both of Thomasville, NC, and Isaac (Karen) Billie of Albertshofen, Germany; one son-in-law, Theodore Moore; one sister, Sadie Solomon of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers-in-law, John Jackson and Moses Jackson of Summerton, SC; a special caretaker, Shirley Prothro; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carrie Lee Jackson Billie; two children, Ernest Billie and Carrie Billie Moore; six brothers and three sisters.

Public Viewing will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 2-7pm at Job's Mortuary.

Mr. Billie will be placed in the church on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 12:30pm for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Antioch UME Church 10026 Old River Road Pinewood, SC (Rimini Community), with Elder Barry Gadsden Officiating and Rev. Lavaron Johnson, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant UME Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 398 Catie Street Sumter, SC 5-9 Daily.
