Mr. Adren Williams Sr. was born on June 4, 1939 in Sumter, SC and departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina.
He was one of eight children born to the late Houston Williams Sr. and Sallie McFadden Williams.
As a child, Adren attended the public schools of Sumter County. At an early age, Adren joined St. Paul AME Church and later joined Mulberry Baptist Church.
He was employed with Carolina Furniture Works for forty-four years. In 1960, Adren was united in holy matrimony to Gracie Evelyn Wilder Williams.
To cherish his memory, Adren leaves six children: Gwendolyn Wright, Deborah Williams, Sharry Singleton (Willie), Evelyn Wilson (Terrence), Mallicha Ragin (Frankie) , and Adren Williams Jr. of Sumter, SC and Norris Williams (Serena) of Rock Hill, SC; eighteen grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Moody of Marion, SC and Dorothy Thorne of Sumter, SC; one uncle, Alfred Williams Sr.(Novella) ; two brothers-in-law, James Wilder (Carrie) and Ezekial Burns; and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Pearson; nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Adren was preceded in death by his twin brother Vivian Williams, his sister Mary Jane Williams, and his older brothers, Houston Williams Jr. and Lester Williams Sr.
Public Viewing will be held on Sunday May 22, 2016 from 2-7pm at Job's Mortuary. Mr. Williams will be placed in the church on Monday at 1pm for viewing until the hour of service. Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 2pm at Mulberry Baptist Church 1400 Mulberry Church Road, Sumter with Pastor Rev. Dr. Nate Brock, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery.
